The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea has opened a criminal case over the assault and battery of Russian boxing champion Dmitry Dvali and his companion. The press service of the department reports this on the official Telegram channel.

According to media reports, the incident took place in the city of Feodosia. A man lost an eye while protecting a child from an attack by a group of men.

“During monitoring of social networks on Telegram channels, information was revealed about a conflict between a group of people on the territory of Feodosia, as a result of which a young man, a Russian boxing champion, and his friend received bodily injuries of various severity,” the message says.

The regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating the conflict with the use of violence. Currently, two people living in the region have been detained, the press service of the department said.

Dmitry Dvali, a native of the city of Balashikha, has achieved significant sporting successes by the age of 24. He was awarded the title of Master of Sports of Russia of international class, is the European boxing champion in the weight category up to 54 kg among men, as well as the winner of the world and Russian championships among the military.
