Mamiashvili said that FSBR representatives would not attend Batirov’s induction ceremony into the UWW Hall of Fame.

President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili told that none of the athletes and representatives of the federation would attend the inclusion ceremony of the double Olympic champion Mavleta Batirova to the United World Wrestling (UWW) Hall of Fame.

The ceremony will take place on August 5 at the Maison de la Lutte in Paris before the start of the Olympic wrestling tournament.

— None of our official representatives are here, it is natural. The procedure will take place and then there will be a more comfortable time to visit. Perhaps at the next World or European Championships we will organize a worthy celebration. Otherwise, there will be neither representatives of the federation nor athletes at this ceremony, “Mamiashvili told .

Batirov will become the 24th Russian representative in the UWW Hall of Fame. Batirov, who competed in the weight categories up to 55 and 60 kg, won gold at the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008). The Russian also won gold and bronze at the World Championships (2006, 2007).
