In the quarter-finals, 28-year-old Lin Yuting defeated Bulgarian Svetlana Staneva by unanimous decision (5:0), a result that guaranteed her at least a bronze medal at the Olympic Games.
Lin Yuting is one of two female boxers who were disqualified from the 2023 world championships due to high testosterone levels but were allowed to compete at the Paris Olympics following a ruling by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Algerian athlete Iman Khelif, who failed the gender test, also won an Olympic medal in the weight category up to 66 kg.
