Russian UFC fighter Alexei Oleinik speaking in heavyweight, spoke in an interview with about the consequences of a long career in MMA.
Oleinik, 45, has been a professional since 1996, a record for current UFC fighters.
What trauma do you feel more strongly than others?
– Psychological fatigue is the strongest. That is to say, it is very difficult for me to force myself to do 5 push-ups, although I can do 50 high-quality push-ups. People regularly ask me, “Give me a workout, I’ll come over, I’ll give you $200, $300, $500, give me a lesson.” And I do sometimes, but very rarely. I’m so reluctant to do that that I’m not interested in amounts and stuff. Earlier I did two workouts for two grand, but realized I ate some of this one.
At the same time, when I don’t train for a few months, everything possible starts hurting me. And quite strongly. When I train, it hurts less many times. That’s the point, I can’t train anymore. After the fight for 2-3 weeks I generally feel good, tone, form is crazy. And then a couple of months pass outside of training, and I start to spread out, blur, – Oleinik told .
The Russian will then face Ilir Latifi (15-8 in MMA) on October 1 in Las Vegas.
