President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Oumar Kremlev called for changes to the statutes of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) so that current IOC President Thomas Bach cannot be re-elected for a new term.
Bach was elected president of the organization in 2013 and was re-elected in 2021 for a four-year term that, according to the current Olympic Charter, should be his last.
— We must ensure that the IOC President and the Executive Committee are elected by the countries, they must vote. Bach wants to change the Charter to stay, but it must be changed so that it is not the IOC members who choose, but the countries. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) must also be independent.
