Court arrests three more suspects in attempted murder of Russian boxing champion Dmitri Dvali until September 29, reports the press service of the Crimean and Sevastopol Investigative Committee.
Earlier it was reported that 23-year-old Dvali defended a boy who was beaten by the crowd and was seriously injured during the fight. The investigator establishes the circumstances of the fight, due to which the athlete could lose an eye. Initially, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism), paragraph “a”, Part 3 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing grievous bodily harm), but later, taking into account the circumstances and public outcry, the case was reclassified as attempted murder. Six suspects were taken into custody on Monday.
— Three more participants in the mass brawl on the Feodosia embankment have been detained. For two of them, the court revised the previously chosen preventive measure in the form of house arrest. As a result, the nine detained residents of the Feodosia urban district, accused by the Russian Investigative Committee of attempted murder of an athlete, will be kept in custody until September 29 inclusive, the message says.
Dvali is a European champion and a World Championship bronze medalist.
