Russian mixed martial arts fighters Islam Makhachev , Anatoly Malykhin And Alexander Volkov were among the contenders for the World MMA Awards, according to the award’s website.
UFC lightweight champion Makhachev claims victory in two categories: “Best Fighter of the Year” and “Best Starter of the Year”. ONE Championship champion in three weight classes Malykhin can become the winner in the “Breakthrough of the Year” category, Volkov – in the “Best Choke Hold of the Year” category.
Please note that the nominees were determined based on the results of performances from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. Voting on the award website will close on September 30.
