Francis has not competed in mixed martial arts since January 2022.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou will officially return to MMA October 19th.
Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced a fight between a Cameroonian and a Brazilian Renan “Problems” Ferreira as part of the “Battle of the Giants” event.
Back in February, the PFL announced that the 39-year-old mixed martial artist would be resuming his MMA career. It was reported that he would face the winner of a super fight between PFL champion Renan Ferreira and Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader.
Ngannou signed with the PFL in the summer of 2023. He hasn’t fought in MMA since January 2022, switching to boxing for a while. Francis made his professional boxing debut in October 2023 against then-WBC champion Tyson Fury and lost by decision. The Cameroonian’s next fight was in March 2024 against Anthony Joshua and he was knocked out in the second round.
In MMA, Ngannou has had 20 fights, winning 17 of them (12 by knockout).
