Vladimir Zelensky thanked boxer Alexander Khizhnyak for winning the final of the up to 80 kg boxing tournament at the Olympics.
The President of Ukraine especially noted the strength and confidence of the athlete.
“Another gold medal at the Olympics in Paris – for Ukraine Alexander Khizhnyak won the first place. Thanks for your strength, for your trust, for this important victory !”, Zelensky reacted.

Let’s remember that Khizhnyak’s opponent in the final is Nurbek Oralbay from Kazakhstan. Our athlete won the first round (3:2), then lost the second three-minute round (2:3). Everything was decided by the third round, where all the judges gave victory to the Ukrainian – 5:0.
Earlier, Khizhnyak said if he would turn pro after Olympic gold.
