Athletistic/Boxing. Doctors have successfully performed an operation to save the eye of Russian and European boxing champion Dmitry Dvali, Russia Today reports.

“The operation was successful, he is now in a Moscow clinic,” Dmitry’s brother said.

Previously, doctors had expressed doubts about the possibility of saving the eye and suggested that Dvali might need a prosthesis.

Recall that on July 28, Dvali, accompanied by his cutman and brother, witnessed the beating of a young man by a crowd and intervened to help the victim. As a result of the fight, the boxer suffered a fracture of the orbital bone and a serious eye injury, which led to partial loss of vision.

  • The European Boxing Confederation has reacted to the terrible news concerning Dmitry Dvali.
