Athletistic / Boxing. British swimmer Sharron Davis, a silver medallist at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, has criticised the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for expressing her displeasure over the fact that boxers Iman Khelif and Lin Yuting were allowed to compete at the Olympics.

Both athletes had already failed the gender test, which is why they were not allowed to compete at the World Championships. But they eventually made it to the Olympics.

“The job of any organization is to provide protection. At the moment, the IOC is being negligent in this regard.

They don’t take into account the damage a male athlete can do to a female athlete. If I were one of those athletes, I would try to get justice.

“The problem is that these athletes are very young. And they are intimidated. The IOC puts enormous pressure on governments and national associations to force athletes to sign documents that deny them the ability to express their views. And that is a problem,” Davis told the Guardian.
