Athletistic/Boxing. Russian boxer Azalia Amineva has called Algerian Iman Khelif’s participation in the boxing competition at the Paris Olympics unacceptable, despite the fact that she had already failed the gender test.

Khelif became the winner of the Olympic women’s boxing tournament in the weight category up to 66 kg, defeating China’s Yang Liu in the final by unanimous decision.

“Khelif’s opponent in the Olympic final did not live up to the tournament. The sympathy of the authorities for Khelif is obvious, although unfounded. I can imagine what I would do with such rivals if I were in the ring. My challenge remains relevant and I look forward to meeting Helif, but not for long. As for the Olympic tournament, the admission of disqualified athletes is a shame, and there can be no justification here,” Aminev is quoted by TASS.

Previously, Amineva had challenged Khelif to a fight via her social networks.

Khelif and Lin Yuting of Taiwan were disqualified from the 2023 World Championships after failing gender tests. Khelif was removed from the competition in the 66kg category and Lin Yuting was stripped of bronze in the 57kg category. Both athletes also competed at the Tokyo Olympics.
