Lin Yuting, who failed the gender test, said she would not sue the International Boxing Association.

Taiwanese Lin Yuting, who won a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has said she has no plans to sue the International Boxing Association (IBA).

The IBA held a press conference during the Games in the French capital in which it criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for hosting the Olympics and admitting two participants to the boxing tournament who had been suspended for failing a gender test. In 2023, the IBA suspended Lin Yuting and Iman Khelif of Algeria from the World Cup in India for failing to meet eligibility criteria. Following the gender test, the athletes were found to have XY chromosomes. As a result, both athletes won gold medals at the Olympics.

“I have already proven everything with an Olympic gold medal.” I don’t need to prove anything to these people through legal proceedings,” Lin Yuting was quoted as saying by Taiwan’s Central News Agency.

Lin Yuting, 28, also said the IOC observes strict standards when selecting athletes and has repeatedly proven its qualifications in this area.

Boxing competitions at the Olympic Games were organized by a special unit created by the IOC. In June 2023, the IOC session expelled the IBA from the Olympic movement by a majority vote.
