Brazilian Bruno Cappelozza has accepted a one-year sanction for violating the Professional Fighters League’s (PFL) anti-doping policy, according to the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) website.
A 35-year-old athlete tested positive for clomiphene and its metabolite desethyl-clomiphene in a urine sample collected out-of-competition on 17 April 2024. Clomiphene is a special substance belonging to the class of hormones and metabolic modulators and its use is prohibited in- and out-of-competition.
It is worth noting that Cappelozza received the maximum possible penalty for this violation. The disqualification period begins on April 17, 2024.
The Brazilian has 15 wins and 7 losses; another of his fights was declared invalid. Cappelozza’s last fight was in February 2024. Then, Russian Vadim Nemkov defeated him by choke. In April 2024, Cappelozza was supposed to face Russian Sergei Bilostenny, but withdrew from the tournament.
