President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Oumar Kremlev thanked the doctors for the operation performed Dmitri Dvali during which the athlete managed to save his eye.
Earlier, 23-year-old Dvali was seriously injured in a fight in Feodosia – doctors diagnosed him with a fracture of the orbital bone. It was reported that the boxer defended the boy who was beaten by the crowd. Dvali underwent surgery on August 7, and doctors managed to save his eye. The athlete will undergo another operation.

In early August, the chairman of the Russian investigative committee, Alexander Bastrykin, signed an order awarding Dvali the departmental medal “Valor and Courage.”
Dvali is the 2024 European champion and the 2023 world bronze medalist.
