The boxer believes that the Ukrainian has a psychological advantage
Former World Heavyweight Champion New Zealander Joseph Parker (30-2, 21 KO) believes that the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk has a psychological advantage over the second fight with Anthony Joshua.
“I am leaning towards Usyk’s victory because of the confidence with which he won in the first fight. But it will be very interesting.”
“Joshua is always dangerous. He has the skills of a heavyweight capable of hurting any fighters. It works when he’s in great shape. But if morally you are not in the ring, all efforts are a waste of time.
“Joshua was a good champion and has a chance to be one again. His team must make adjustments for the new fight to counter Usyk’s plan. Joshua has a lot of support in the UK, but Usyk will also get a lot of support at home.”
Earlier it was reported that Parker will become the main contender for the fight against the winner of the Usyk-Joshua fight if he can defeat Briton Joe Joyce. Parker previously held the WBO belt, losing it to Joshua. Now the New Zealander is number two in the rankings. Joyce is number one according to the WBO.
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia.
In Ukraine, the broadcast of the Usyk-Joshua rematch will be hosted by the MEGOGO media service. Usyk personally acquired the right to broadcast his fight with Joshua in order to transfer them to Ukrainian broadcasters for free. The fight will also be broadcast by Radio Promin.
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
