ASA League Heavyweight Champion Yevgeny Goncharov explained to how his family views his MMA career.
On Friday, at the ACA 178 tournament, Goncharov will defend his heavyweight belt in a duel with Adam Bogatyrev. This fight will headline the tournament at the Live Arena near Moscow and will become the final of the ASA Heavyweight Grand Prix.
— You said that trash talk is unacceptable to you because you are a husband and father, but you rarely show your family on social media. Tell us about the children.
— I have two children: my daughter is five years old, my son is five months old.
— Do they watch the fights?
— My daughter watches, she doesn’t understand everything 100%, what, how and why, but now she will also watch the show. For example, when I beat Tony Johnson, she was 3.5 years old, and I have a video in which my wife recorded her daughter running around the room, rejoicing, saying: “Daddy won, Daddy won.”
— So for her, it’s just ‘daddy beats up the other guys’, right?
– Like work, yes, she already understands it that way now. I said before going to battle: “My daughter, I will go now, I will fight, I will win, and we will go on vacation with you: with you, with your mother and with your brother Plato. We will go to a good hotel and relax by the sea.” And she: “Dad, come on, I’m waiting for you.”
— Have you already bought your holiday tickets?
“Not yet, it all depends on the result,” Goncharov told .
