UFC Chief Dana Blanc assessed the chances of the Russian fighter Magomed Ankalaeva become a contender for the promotion’s light heavyweight championship belt.
The 32-year-old Russian (19-1-1) is the No. 2 ranked light heavyweight in the UFC. At UFC 308, which will take place on October 26 in Abu Dhabi, he will face Austrian Alexander Rakic (14-4).
– Ankalaev hasn’t missed his chance yet, he’ll fight soon. Go out, do your thing, look great and you’ll be next,” White was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.
The current UFC light heavyweight champion is Brazilian Alex Pereira. In December 2022, Ankalaev fought for the vacant title – his fight with Polish Jan Blachowicz ended in a draw.
