The fight will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Former World Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder (42-2, 41 KOs) plans to return to the ring on October 15. The American intends to fight against the Finnish boxer Robert Helenius (34-3, 20 KOs).
The boxing teams have already reached an agreement on the fight, it remains to be announced officially. The fight is scheduled to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Helenius was considered the preferred option for Wilder’s return. Deontay’s promoter Shelley Finkel said that the Finn was one of several candidates from which the team chose an opponent.
Helenius last October defeated Pole Adam Kownacki in their second fight. Prior to this, in March 2020, the Finn defeated Kownacki by technical knockout in the fourth round, inflicting the first defeat of the Pole in his career.
Wilder in his last fights suffered two defeats from Tyson Fury: in 2020, the American lost the WBC championship belt to his opponent, and last fall he failed to return him in a rematch.
