The fight changed dates and locations several times, but still could not take place.
Fight of the Ukrainian super heavyweight Andrey Rudenko (36-7, 22 KO) against the Briton Johnny Fisher (12-0, 11 KO) cancelled due to an injury to Fischer, details of which were not disclosed.
Now the headliner of the boxing evening in London on September 28 will be a women’s fight for the WBO lightweight title between Rhiannon Dixon (10-0, 1 KO, first defense) and Terri Harper (14-2-2, 6 KO).
Let us recall that the 10-round fight between Rudenko and Fisher was initially scheduled for August 24 in Manchester as part of the Matchroom Boxing event. Later, the fight was moved to September 28 in Sheffield. At the end of the summer, the fight was given a new venue – the capital’s Copper Box Arena.
Rudenko, who turned 41 on September 4, last fought in October 2023, when he defeated another Ukrainian, Semyon Pakhomov, by technical knockout. Fischer defeated Alen Babich in July 2024.
