Shane Fury: Tyson fought wrong in Usyky, he will win in rematch

The brother of the “Gypsy King” commented on the upcoming rematch of two boxers

Shane Furybrother of the former WBC title holder Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KO), commented on the upcoming rematch of the “Gypsy King” with the WBO/WBA/IBO/WBC heavyweight champion Alexander Usik (22-0, 14 KOs).

“The good thing is that this fight can be won next time. Whether it will work out or not are two different things. Tyson fought wrong, we fought wrong, so now he knows it’s different, so we’ll see. I believe it is much easier said than done to walk up to such a person and grab onto him. But if you train your mind, it can be a lot easier to do than trying to turn it on in the next round.”

“It was a good close fight. Sometimes I watch it and think that Usyk won, sometimes I watch it and think that Tyson won, and that’s true. Anyone who sees otherwise has reason to do so.”

“He really didn’t fight right. A week before the event or two weeks before, we all sat down and I explained what we needed to do. I really think Tyson will beat him in his next fight.”

Let us remember that on the night of May 18-19, Usik inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.

An agreement has been concluded between Usik and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight. Oleksandr Usyk will prepare for the rematch in a training camp in Valencia. Tyson Fury has not yet started preparing for the fight.
