Russian fighter Umar Nurmagomedov responded to the current UFC champion Merabou Dvalishvili after being accused of lying.
Earlier, Dvalishvili accused the Russian of lying after a post in which Nurmagomedov claimed the Georgian fighter twice refused to fight him. Dvalishvili said he declined the fight due to a hand injury on doctor’s orders.
—Is this the same injury you were prepared to fight with Corey (Sandhagen)? I’m basing this on what the manager said. Since prehistoric times, no one has bothered to respect cowards,” Nurmagomedov wrote on the social network.
Nurmagomedov, 28, sits second in the UFC bantamweight division rankings and could make his next title fight against Dvalishvili. Previously, Nurmagomedov’s manager announced that the fight for the championship belt could take place in early 2025.
During his MMA career, Dvalishvili won 18 times and suffered four defeats; Nurmagomedov has 18 victories in 18 fights.
