In his opinion, Dubois made a big name for himself
IBF World Cruiserweight Champion Jay Opetaya believes that the defeat of the ex-world champion in heavyweight Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) in a fight with the IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) will benefit the division.
“It’s great for boxing. This opened up the heavyweight division more. Another big name has emerged. AJ is a big name without a title. Now we have a self-made Daniel Dubois.”

Dubois defeated Joshua in a fight that took place in London on Saturday, September 21. Daniel knocked down AJ three times and knocked out his opponent in the fifth round. Dubois defended the IBF title, which he received after Oleksandr Usyk abandoned it.
The Joshua-Dubois fight set a new record for the largest number of spectators in the 21st century for a boxing match. The boxing evening at Wembley Stadium in London was attended by 98,128 people.
AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn said that the fight contract included a rematch option. However, Bob Arum denied this statement, calling it “fiction.” Dubois coach Don Charles believes his player should prepare thoroughly for any upcoming opponent.
