Fury: The trilogy with Wilder was an amazing journey. He was one of the most dangerous fighters to ever step foot in the ring.

In the first fight between Wilder and Fury, a draw was recorded, the next two ended in victories for the “Gypsy King.”

Former WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) shared memories of his trilogy with the former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KO).

“It was an amazing journey. I came back and frankly, I fought two fights at a low level and then immediately jumped on Wilder. The guy had his 10th title defense. I had a difficult task ahead of me.”

“I admit that the rematch was easier because I had already fought him. Everything turned out to be easier than I expected. Apart from knockdowns, I just boxed and went towards my goal. In the Wilder fight, there’s always the chance that you’ll miss one punch and it’ll be all over for you.”

“I have to admit that when I fought him, he was one of the most dangerous fighters to ever step foot in the ring. Deontay was a very formidable opponent. Of course, already in the rematch I knew exactly what I needed to do. I just went out there and did my job.”

“Then there was a third fight, which I didn’t really want. It wasn’t because I was scared or anything like that. It’s just that we’ve already had two fights. I wanted to fight other guys, but I was kind of forced into it. Still, the third fight turned out to be incredible, the best of all. He was knocked down two or three times, and I was knocked down twice. It was an exceptional battle.”

The first fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder in December 2018 ended in a draw, and the next two (in February 2020 and October 2021) ended in knockout victories for the “Gypsy King.”

Fury previously stated his desire to have a trilogy with Alexander Usik if Tyson manages to win the rematch.

Let us remember that on the night of May 18-19, Usik inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.

An agreement has been concluded between Usik and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight. Oleksandr Usyk will prepare for the rematch in a training camp in Valencia. Tyson Fury said he will begin training six to seven weeks before the fight.
