The fight between Denis Berinchik and Joe Cordina will take place on December 21 in Saudi Arabia
WBO lightweight champion Denis Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) arrived in Spain to prepare for a fight with the former IBF world super featherweight champion Joe Cordina (17-1, 9 KOs).
The fight itself will take place on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Thus, the Berinchyk-Kordina fight will become part of the boxing evening program, where Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will meet in the final fight.
Let us remind you that in May Berinchik defeated the Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete by a split decision. The Ukrainian won the long-awaited WBO world lightweight title.
Berinchyk planned to defend his title against Briton Mark Chamberlain. The fight was expected to take place before the end of this year.
Another possible rival of the Ukrainian was William Cepeda. Undefeated American lightweight Raymond Murataglia also expressed a desire to fight Berinchik.
