On Saturday in Riyadh, Beterbiev defeated Bivol by majority decision and won the absolute light heavyweight champion title. The judges’ scores are 116:112, 115:113, 114:114. Bivol suffered the first defeat of his career, and Beterbiev for the first time brought the fight to a judges’ decision. He now has 21 victories, including 20 early victories.
“I can’t calculate the chances of a rematch.” They literally punched each other apart – it could have even been a draw. If we take it in terms of media, in terms of interest, then a rematch would be interesting for the organizers. It’s interesting for everyone, including the audience. And the boxers themselves said that they were ready for a rematch,” Valuev told Soviet Sport.
