Fighter Lipova explained how boxing training will help Plushenko’s students

Three-time kickboxing world champion Alexander Lipovoy in a conversation with a correspondent, he shared his impressions of working with students Evgenia Plushenko and spoke of his intention to open his own school based on Plushenko’s Angels.

On Friday, Lipovoy held a master class for figure skaters at the Plushenko Academy.

– In what format did the training take place and what did Plushenko’s students learn?

— The first training session took place in an open format. I talked to the guys about the basics of boxing, we sorted out the qualities a boxer should have, worked out the boxing stance, delivering sparring punches, tried shuttling. I’ve seen guys who have potential.

– Will you continue to work with the skaters of the Plushenko Academy?

– I will not only continue to train, at the base of Plushenko Angels we open a branch of my fight club Lipovoy Gym. I will practice with my students. We will work according to the method of my author. With my methodology, I have performed on world stages and won the presidential scholarship competition.

Did you enjoy working with Plushenko’s students?

– Zhenya’s students are guys who have been involved in sports since childhood, it was easy to train with them. They grasp quickly, they have poise, poise, a sense of distance. During the first training session, they quickly understood the essentials. It seemed to me that they had been boxing for at least two weeks.

– And boxing is not traumatic for figure skaters?

– Boxing is not even among the ten most dangerous sports. With the right approach and my coordination of training, they will develop the reaction, coordination and functional component of the skaters.

Does Plushenko also train or just watch the process?

– Sure. Eugene trains once a week. Now he has tensed a muscle and is resting. We plan to resume training next week.
