Olympic champion Iman Khelif said she would soon pursue her career in professional boxing.
Algerian Khelif won gold in the weight category up to 66 kg at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The International Boxing Association (IBA) has suspended Khelif from the 2023 World Championships in India due to non-compliance with eligibility criteria. As a result of the gender test, it was proven that the athlete has XY chromosomes. Khelif’s performance at the 2024 Games caused widespread public outcry.
