The Ukrainian intends to fly to the United States in the near future to prepare
President of Top Rank Promotion Company Tod DuBeouf confirmed that the former world champion in three weight classes Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) will return to the ring in the fall.
“I understand he is considering coming to the US at some stage in the near future. I hope so. Once he lands, everything will be great. Then we can get down to business and find him a rival, ”said DuBoeuf.
“Lomachenko’s manager said he wants to fight as soon as possible, sometime in the fall. Once he’s in the US, we’ll be ready to get to work because getting him back in the ring is something special.”
Lomachenko was offered a fight with George Kambosos before Devin Haney. This fight was in his pocket. He wanted all his titles back and we could arrange that. But Lomachenko chose not to. It shows great devotion and determination. He is a special person.”
In July, the Ukrainian announced his readiness to return to the ring. It is expected that Vasily will fight his fight on October 22 after a long pause.
Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision. Subsequently, Lomachenko could fight George Kambosos, but pulled out against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
