“Iron Mike” believes that Alexander was too fast for the Brit in the first fight
Former World Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson thinks that jab Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) became an insoluble problem for Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) in their first fight. To be successful in the rematch, the British should master this technique of the Ukrainian, Iron Mike believes.
“It will be difficult to beat Usyk because he is fast and throws the jab. Joshua needs to learn how to get away from his jab. That’s the only thing Anthony couldn’t handle. Also, Usyk was too fast for Joshua.”
“Joshua needs to put a lot of pressure on him, press him all night. Anthony is a powerful puncher, but against a guy like that you need to be active. Usyk moves a lot, he has a delivered jab. This guy is very smart,” said the legendary former boxer.
Earlier, Tyson said that for a successful outcome of the fight, Joshua should wear down the Ukrainian. The technique of Usyk, who honed his skills in the amateur boxing elite, is inconvenient for Anthony style fighters.
Also, ex-world welterweight champion Amir Khan spoke about the preparation of the Ukrainian for the fight with Joshua. Khan noted that Usyk became 15 kg heavier, but this does not affect the speed of his actions.
In Ukraine, the broadcast of the Usyk-Joshua rematch will be hosted by the MEGOGO media service. The broadcast will be free for viewers in Ukraine. The screening will also be available on the regional channels of “Suspilny” and on Usyk’s YouTube channel – Usyk17.
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. Last fall, the Ukrainian defeated Anthony by unanimous decision and became the world heavyweight champion for the first time.
