Tyson has time to decide until August 26
WBC President Mauricio Suleiman announced that his organization would give the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury two weeks before August 26, so that he confirms in writing that he is retiring from the sport.
If Fury confirms his departure, the WBC will give Deontay Wilder the opportunity to face the winner of Andy Ruiz vs. Luis Ortiz for the vacant title.
Fury has the opportunity to wait for the results of the rematch between Alexander Usyk and Anthony Joshua on August 20 and then decide whether he wants to fight the winner or not.
Fury has announced his retirement twice before. Yesterday, August 13, Tyson vacated his The Ring magazine belt, but he still holds the WBC title.
It was also reported that Fury’s representatives are in talks with Derek Chisora to hold another face-to-face confrontation in December 2022.
