Teofimo Lopez: My goal is to be a champion in two weight divisions

On August 13, Lopez will fight Mexican Pedro Campa in Las Vegas.

Former Undisputed World Lightweight Champion Teofimo Lopez (16-1, 12 KOs) before the fight against the Mexican Pedro Campa (33-1-1, 22 KOs) announced his goals in the new division.

“My goal is to win welterweight belts. I want to be a champion in two weight categories, ”Teofimo emphasized.

“I’m not interested in who will be the opponent. It’s Taylor or Cepeda – I’m not afraid of anyone. I absolutely do not care who will fight against me. I know who I am – whoever fights against me, I will be the winner.”

On August 13, in Las Vegas, Lopez will fight against Mexican Pedro Campa (33-1-1, 22 KOs). For Lopez, this will be his debut fight in the light welterweight division. In addition, it was reported that Theo intends to hold three fights in light welterweight before the end of the year.

Recall that Teofimo moved to another weight category after losing to George Kambosos in November last year. Prior to that, Lopez defeated the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko by unanimous decision and selected his WBA and WBO world lightweight titles, and also became the new WBC franchise champion.
