Chimaev, who represents the United Arab Emirates, defeated former UFC middleweight champion Australian Whittaker in the first round on Saturday at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
“A dominant victory, congratulations,” Makhachev wrote on social media.
Chimaev earned his 14th victory in 14 MMA fights, Whittaker suffered his eighth defeat in 34 fights.
