This will be the 25th anniversary of the Russian Women’s Championship. By the way, Serpukhov hosted the tournament already in 2004. Then Elena Sabitova and Sofia Ochigava, Elena Karpacheva and Yulia Nemtsova, Irina Sinetskaya and Olga Slavinskaya, Natalya Ragozina and Maria Yavorskaya became champions – athletes who were originally of women’s boxing in our country, won major tournaments and glorified Russia on the international stage. .

Perhaps the anniversary championship will also become a record in terms of the number of participants: 185 athletes from 50 regions of the country submitted applications to participate in the tournament.

“The Russian Championship will be a qualifying round for the national team – the main team and the reserve team – for 2025,” said the head coach of the Russian women’s team, Albert Mutalibov. — Next year we will have the World Championships in Belgrade, and the winners of the Russian Championships will be the main contenders to represent our country in Serbia. All Russian stars of women’s boxing will participate in the Russian championship. The exceptions are 2012 world champion Alexandra Kuleshova and 2019 world champion Ekaterina Kuts, who is recovering from injury. It will be very interesting to watch the 2023 world champion Anastasia Demurchyan, who will compete in a new weight category. I think the decision to change category is the right one. Let’s see how Anastasia behaves. I am looking forward to a very interesting confrontation in the 57, 60, 66 and 75 kg categories, where we have several favorites. In a weight of 57 kg – these are Lyudmila Vorontsova and Daria Abramova, in 60 kg – Nadezhda Golubeva and Nune Asatryan, in 66 kg – Azalia Amineva and Albina Moldazhanova, in 75 kg – Anastasia Shamonova and Elena Gapeshina. I am sure that young athletes who have already completed training camps with the national team and participated in international tournaments should also shine. By the way, the championship will allow us to evaluate the work not only of boxers, but also of personal trainers, because the athletes were preparing on the field for the Russian championship.

The tournament prize pool is 24 million rubles. For the first place, athletes will receive 1,500,000, for the second – 250,000, for the third – 125,000 rubles. All fights of the Russian championship will be broadcast on Match.Fighter and Match.Strana TV channels. The competition will take place at the Nadezhda Sports Palace in the Bolshevik village of the Serpukhov urban district.
