Berinchyk: If Usyk loses to Joshua, he better not come back

The fight between Alexander and Anthony will take place on August 20

WBO International lightweight title holder Denis Berinchyk (16-0, 9 KOs) commented on the rematch of the Ukrainian WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk with a Brit Anthony Joshua.

“I saw all these Joshua muscles – it’s impressive. But Usyk did not sit still. Again, we have been at war for half a year, so if he returns without a victory … Better let him not return. If you already left, then let’s win,” said Berinchyk.

“Will Joshua make a difference in the second fight? It took 10 years to train. You train for 10 years – then you change something. And now, if you were a sheep, then you will remain one.”

The next fight Berinchyk should hold on October 22 in the French Pont-Saint-Maxense. Denis will face a Frenchman Ivan Mendy (47-5-1, 22 KOs), who owns the European Boxing Council (EBU) lightweight championship belt.

The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. Last fall, the Ukrainian defeated Anthony by unanimous decision and became the world heavyweight champion for the first time.

In Ukraine, the broadcast of the Usyk-Joshua rematch will be hosted by the MEGOGO media service. The broadcast will be free for viewers in Ukraine. The screening will also be available on the regional channels of “Suspilny” and on Usyk’s YouTube channel – Usyk17.
