International Boxing Association (IBA) general secretary Chris Roberts said the prize fund for the Junior World Championships (ages 17-18) is $500,000.
The world championship will be held in the Montenegrin city of Budva from October 23 to November 3, 2024. Quarter-finalists will receive $1,000, bronze medalists will receive $2,000, silver medalists will receive $4,000 and medalists gold will receive $8,000.
— All our actions aim to support boxers. And our decision regarding the prize fund is further proof of this. We do not make broken promises and I am proud that the IBA is a leading organization that always puts the interests of athletes first. They must learn, succeed, and provide for their families through their performance. This is especially important for young athletes who are about to reach the elite age group. “I look forward to congratulating the winners,” Roberts was quoted as saying by the IBA.
Russian boxers perform at international tournaments with the country’s flag and anthem without restrictions.
The semi-finals will take place on October 31, the finals on November 2 and 3.
