Fury again surprised with a suit at a meeting with Usik. Who sews bright clothes for the Gypsy King

Spoiler – a daring fashion house from the UK, whose services McGregor also uses

A week ago, October 23, at London the first press conference and duel of views took place before the rematch between the holder of the WBC, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts Alexander Usik (22-0, 14 KOs) and former WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). Through the efforts of two boxers, an ordinary and traditional event turned into a real show.

Usik appeared in public to the song “Ave Maria” in the extravagant image of a hero from a series of computer games Hitman. Fury came out to the song “Barbie Girl.” The event was hosted by legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer.

Usik’s bright image, as well as his behavior, overshadowed Fury’s costume. But in vain: the British boxer and the designers encrypted a “message to the Ukrainian” in it, and the seemingly familiar crow’s feet are a raised middle finger.

“It’s not just a costume, it’s a statement. When you strike a king, you must kill him – this is how this image can be characterized. This is Fury’s message to the world: by underestimating him, you take risks,” the designers explained this decision. They know what they are talking about: the company has been working with Fury for more than 10 years, creating many striking images for the Gypsy King. And all this is Claudio Lugli.

This is a young, but already quite famous fashion house from Great Britain. His clients include many celebrities. Including, for example, Connor McGregor.

The company’s motto is that fashion should evoke an emotional response from those seeking incredible design and craftsmanship, and patterns should convey incredible stories. “We view fashion as a reflection of the wearer’s soul and therefore we champion bold designs that break conventions and speak for themselves. We strive to create clothes that inspire self-belief and adventure.”

When it comes to the stories told, Lugli is not lying. For example, the print of the suit created for Fury for Christmas 2022 was full of references to symbols that were significant to Tyson. The Lancashire Rose demonstrated his unbreakable ties to his home town of Morecambe. The fist represented the boxing family that Tyson comes from and his warrior spirit. Universal symbols of mental health awareness, sheet music recognizing Fury’s musical talents and love of singing, flags highlighting his patriotism, love for his country and people.”

The brand’s clothing definitely cannot be called cheap. The average cost of a “small-scale suit” is more than 600 euros. Lugli is a proponent of “casual dressing”, creating his own fashion niche that is not the privilege of a particular social class, high fashion or physical shape.

And also confidence. For example, Fury appeared in such a suit with a print of all the belts before the first fight with Usik.

And in this one – before the second with Wilder.

Let us remember that on the night of May 18-19, Usik inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.

An agreement has been concluded between Usik and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight. Oleksandr Usyk will prepare for the rematch in a training camp in Valencia. The Ukrainian said that he attracts scientists, psychologists to the training camp, and is constantly looking for suitable sparring partners. Tyson Fury said he will begin training six to seven weeks before the fight.
