“No one doubted it” – Kravtsov about the medical report on the sexual characteristics of Iman Khelif

Chairman of the Coaching Council of the Russian Boxing Federation Eduard Kravtsov told that he was not surprised by reports from journalists that the Olympic boxing champion Iman Khelif originally from Algeria has male sexual characteristics.

Earlier, The Correspondent published a medical report according to which the athlete had neither uterus nor ovaries, as well as the presence of testicles in the inguinal canal and a micropenis resembling an enlarged clitoris. Another test confirmed that Khelif carries a normal male karyotype of 46,XY. Following a hormonal study, the Algerian woman revealed a “typically male testosterone level” of 14.7 nmol/l, several times higher than the maximum testosterone level in women.

– Nobody doubted it. There was no longer any need to prove that one was scratching one’s pants. Unfortunately, the Western world is trying to drag us into an unknown place, and many people are falling for it and supporting it. But there are also enough sensible people, including the head of the IBA, Umar Nazarovich Kremlev. He runs an organization where men have to compete with men and women with women,” Kravtsov told .

In 2023, the International Boxing Association (IBA) suspended Khelif from the World Championships in India for failing to meet eligibility criteria. As a result of the gender test, it was proven that the athlete has XY chromosomes. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Khelif won a gold medal in the weight category up to 66 kg.
