Russian Sheikh-Mansur Khabibulaev became six times world champion in combat sambo, winning gold at a tournament in Astana (Kazakhstan).
In the final of the weight category up to 64 kg, Khabibulaev defeated Armenian Mais Nersesyan.
Previously, Khabibulaev won gold in 2018, as well as from 2020 to 2023.
Also among the Russians, Vera Lotkova (combat sambo, up to 54 kg), Abusupiyan Alikhanov (combat sambo, up to 88 kg) and Denis Kalinin (sport sambo, up to 79 kg) won gold at the 2024 World Championship.
The World Sambo Championship takes place from November 8 to 10.
