“Of all the fighters I’ve faced, the one I remember the most is losing to Frankie Edgar by decision. When I went down I was like, ‘God, he has the same will as me. , maybe even more.’ And that’s he. there was a war. I lost by decision. He was smarter than me,” Sport24 quotes Oliveira in reference to Brazilian MMA fighters.
Oliveira fought American Frankie Edgar on July 6, 2013 at UFC 162 in Las Vegas. As a result of the fight, Edgar was victorious by unanimous decision from the judges. Frankie’s loss was the fourth for Charles Oliveira in his career, so far he has eight.
Oliveira will face Russian fighter Islam Makhachev on October 22, 2022 for the vacant UFC lightweight title.
