Russian sambo wrestlers won six medals of various faiths on the final day of competition at the World Championships taking place in Astana (Kazakhstan).
In sports sambo, Daria Rechkalova (up to 80 kg) and Anton Konovalov (up to 98 kg) won gold; in combat sambo, Sofya Istomina (up to 65 kg) and Mikhail Kashurnikov (over 98 kg) won gold medals.
The bronze medalists were Mukhtar Gamzaev (combat sambo, up to 58 kg) and Tatyana Shuyanova (sport sambo, up to 59 kg).
In just three days of World Championship competition, Russian athletes won 13 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals. The winners of the tournament were also Russians Andrey Demidov (up to 64 kg), Viktor Rudenko (up to 79 kg) and Pavel Selivanov (up to 98), who performed in the visually impaired category.
Russian athletes participated in the tournament in neutral status.
