The holder of the IBF title can fight the interim champion of another organization.
It has been revealed who IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois could face in the ring in his next fight after Anthony Joshua rejected an immediate rematch.
According to Sky Sports, the main candidate for the fight with the British boxer is the holder of the interim WBO title, New Zealander Joseph Parker.
Previously, Dubois’ team announced that his next fight should headline the boxing show in February next year. The preliminary date for the planned boxing night was also announced – February 22.
Let’s remember that in his last fight in September of this year, Dubois successfully made the debut defense of the IBF belt, knocking out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round.
Parker won decisions over Deontay Wilder and Zhang Zhilei in his previous two fights in December 2023 and March 2024.
Previously, Joshua’s promoter explained why there was no need for an immediate rematch with Dubois.
