The functionary wants to return the Boxing Bible to the top of publications
Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority Turks Al ash-Sheikh announced the completion of the transaction to purchase 100% of the shares of the authoritative boxing magazine – The Ring.
In his statement, Turki emphasized the key goals of the magazine’s independence, prestige and developing a product line for The Ring.
“The print version of the magazine will return after a two-year hiatus and will be available in the US and UK markets. The magazine will be completely independent, with the best writers focusing on every aspect of boxing.”
“We plan to unveil a brand new, state-of-the-art website and mobile app in the coming weeks, and are already developing a product line for the magazine. The Ring magazine will be a completely independent company with no connection to Riyadh Season. Let’s take the Bible of boxing to heights never seen before.”
Earlier, Turki Al ash-Sheikh announced a new “5 on 5” tournament between Queensberry Promotions and Matchroom Boxing. The event is tentatively planned for February.
In June, the first mini-tournament “5 on 5” took place – it was hosted by the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The promotion company Queensberry Promotions defeated Matchroom Boxing: Frank Warren’s charges defeated all representatives of Eddie Hearn’s company.
