In the absolute fighting championship (CFU ) will return the old-style gloves after receiving negative feedback from fighters about the new ones, promotion head says Dana White .
The new glove design was introduced in April. The goal of the changes was to reduce the number of cuts, pokes in the eyes, abrasions and hand injuries among athletes. Fighters first wore the new gloves at UFC 302 in June and have been using them ever since.
“We originally created these gloves to avoid stinging our eyes.” We hoped everything would work out, but it didn’t work out. The soldiers were not satisfied with this. I actually made a decision. I called our director of operations, Lawrence (Epstein), and said, ‘I’m changing my gloves, I want the old ones back,'” White reportedly told The Score.
