Jake Paul: I admire Tyson, the man is an icon

At the end of the match, all the judges gave the victory to Paul

YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul commented on the victory over the former absolute world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

“Mike Tyson is a legend. He’s the greatest to ever do it. I admire him and without him, we wouldn’t be here now. This man is an icon. It’s a great honor for me to fight him. It was hard, as I expected.”

The fight, which took place in Arlington, lasted all of the allotted eight two-minute rounds. At the end of the match, all the judges gave the victory to Paul – 79:73, 80:72, 79:73. For Jake, this victory was the 11th in his career; Tyson lost his seventh professional fight.

Let us recall that in November 2020, Tyson had an exhibition fight with former world champion in five weight categories, Roy Jones. The match ended in a draw.

Before this, Tyson had his last professional fight in 2005. Mike lost by TKO in the sixth round to Irishman Kevin McBride.

Paul fought twice in 2024. Jake fought his last fight before meeting Tyson on July 20, defeating Michael Perry. Paul stated that after the fight with Mike, he intended to leave boxing and devote himself to a professional career in MMA. Jake also expressed a desire to fight WBC, WBO, WBA super middleweight world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
