Mike Tyson: I don’t regret entering the ring for the last time. I almost died in June and had eight blood transfusions.

Iron Mike lasted all eight rounds against Jake Paul, but still lost by unanimous decision.

Former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson commented on his defeat to YouTube blogger and boxer Jake Paul.

“It’s one of those situations where you lost, but you still won. I’m grateful for last night. I don’t regret entering the ring for the last time.”

“I almost died in June. 8 blood transfusions were performed. Lost half my blood and weighed 25 pounds in the hospital and I had to fight to get better, to fight, so I won.”

“Watching my kids watch me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed stadium is an experience no man should ever ask for. Thank you”.

The fight, which took place in Arlington, lasted all of the allotted eight two-minute rounds. At the end of the match, all the judges gave the victory to Paul – 79:73, 80:72, 79:73. For Jake, this victory was the 11th in his career.

Initially, the fight between Paul and Tyson was supposed to take place in July, but was postponed due to an exacerbation of the ulcer in 58-year-old Mike.

Let us remember that in November 2020, Tyson had an exhibition fight with former world champion in five weight categories, Roy Jones. The match ended in a draw. On the undercard of the event, Jake Paul knocked out Nate Robinson.

Tyson had his last professional fight in 2005. Mike lost by TKO in the sixth round to Irishman Kevin McBride.

Paul fought twice in 2024. Jake fought his last fight before meeting Tyson on July 20, defeating Michael Perry.
