United States President-elect Donald Trump, who will take office in January 2025, attended the UFC 309 tournament. Alongside him are businessman Elon Musk and UFC President Dana White.
The tournament takes place in New York. The main event will be a heavyweight title fight between the promotion’s current champion, American Jon Jones, and his compatriot, former titleholder Stipe Miocic.
The last time Miocic entered the Octagon was in March 2021, when he lost by second-round knockout to Francis Ngannou. Jones defeated Cyril Gan in early March 2023 to win the UFC heavyweight belt.
In mixed martial arts, 37-year-old Jones won 27 victories, suffered one defeat and one of his fights was declared invalid. Miocic, 42, has 20 victories and four lost fights.
The main fight of the UFC 309 tournament can be watched live on channels “Match! Fighter”, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru, broadcasting begins on November 17 at 6:00 (Moscow time).
