“Lefty is a nightmare for me.” Joshua spoke about the tactics for a new fight with Usyk

British boxer Antoine Joshua announced that he intended to change tactics for a new fight against the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk noting that he has trouble dealing with lefties.

“I need adjustments to deal with a southpaw because those southpaws are a nightmare for me. It sounds crazy, but I won’t lie. My goal (in the first fight) wasn’t to hit him with crushing blows. I wanted to go the 12 rounds of the ring and prove that I could box as well as him. Deliver effective blows. But I didn’t work hard enough to prepare for a 12 round fight at this rate. I didn’t have the right mindset – the desire to crush him.

The use of my physique and my strength is obvious this time, isn’t it? But working on it is easier said than done. This time, I really want to hurt him. I know that if I use my strength and my growth, I will have a better chance of winning, – Joshua Talksport quotes the words.

Usyk defeated Joshua in September 2021 and won his WBA (Super), WBO and IBF heavyweight belts. The rematch is set to take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia.

In the professional ring, Usyk, 35, has 19 wins, against Joshua, 32, 24 wins with two losses.
