The Ukrainian fought his last fight in the fall of 2019
Former light heavyweight world champion Alexander Gvozdyk announced his intention to resume his professional career and return to the ring. The Ukrainian stressed that there are already dates for a possible fight.
“Now I’m really looking in this direction. In order not to be unfounded, there is no specifics yet. But I train, I talk. There are even possible dates, but there is nothing to talk about yet. I want to return, I have a desire, plans. I can’t say that this will happen one hundred percent yet, but with a high degree of probability, yes. ”
“As a coach, I think I will work with Marco Contreras, my first mentor. There is currently no manager. I don’t know if I will work with Egis Klimas. Probably not. Now I’m talking to others.”
“There are no agreements so far, except for an oral agreement of intent. So far, the situation is unclear. I want, there is a desire, and then we’ll see.
Gvozdyk became world champion in 2018 by defeating Adonis Stevenson. After that, Alexander had one successful title defense.
Gvozdyk retired in the summer of 2020. The Ukrainian fought his last fight in the fall of 2019, losing to Artur Beterbiev by technical knockout in the tenth round.
