The fight will take place in Tokyo on December 30
American boxer Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) will hold an exhibition fight with the former K-1 junior welterweight champion Rukia Anpo from Japan.
“I look forward to knocking out Anpo for trying to knock out the legend Manny Pacquiao. Manny is no longer at his best and Anpo’s attempt to knock him out annoys me. I’ll knock him out and teach him a lesson about respect,” Garcia said.
The fight will take place in Tokyo on December 30. The fight will take place at 153 pounds and will consist of a maximum of eight two-minute rounds.
Recall that the New York State Athletic Commission in the United States suspended Garcia from participating in sanctioned fights until April 2025 for doping. At the end of May, it became known that Garcia failed a repeat doping test after his fight with Devin Haney. Garcia announced his retirement in June.
Anpo has a record of 27 wins (14 by knockout) with eight losses and one draw in professional kickboxing. The Japanese had one exhibition fight according to boxing rules against the legendary Manny Pacquiao in July 2024. The fight in Saitama, Japan ended in a draw.
